Wardrobe

Next, it’s time to head to your wardrobe – but there’s no need to feel overwhelmed, as all you need to do is pick five items you no longer wear that you can donate to charity.

Whether that means taking it to a shop or organisation that is taking in donations, it’s a great way to make space and do something good in return.

Mugs and cups

Simlarly, a clear-out of your kitchen cupboards could be in order – so have a look and pick out five mugs or cups that you no longer use.

Then, donate these to charity, too, if they’re in good enough condition.

Makeup

When was the last time you really cleared out your makeup collection? Chances are, there are some products that have expired, so it could be worth chucking them out.

Chantel shared the following handy guide for how long makeup products tend to last once they have been opened. So if you’ve got any in your drawer or bag that are older, consider replacing them.

  • Mascara and eyeliner – 3-6 months
  • Foundation and concealer – 6-12 months
  • Lipsticks and lipglosses – 1-2 years
  • Lipliners – up to one year

Subscriptions

Finally, one tip that could work wonders for your wallet is to go through your bank statements carefully and identify any subscription services that you no longer use.

Chances are there’s a TV streaming platform, music site or any other service that you don’t use enough to justify paying for. So by cancelling these, you can save yourself a bit of money heading into 2025.
