Known more for its and tranquil seaside charm than its bustling , this coastal town has quietly emerged as the country’s most eager area for relocation in 2025.

Defying expectations, Bournemouth has outpaced larger metropolitan hubs like Birmingham and Manchester in a new study tracking moving-related searches.

The town has emerged as the UK’s most relocation-ready area for 2025, leading the way with an impressive 38,132 monthly searches for moving-related topics per 100,000 residents, according to new research by moving platform Getamover.co.uk.

The study, based on Google search data from the past year, highlights the town’s intense interest in property browsing and relocation.

Trailing behind Bournemouth in second and third places are Plymouth and Birmingham, with 35,198 and 35,181 searches per 100,000 residents, respectively.

The research analyzed data from 78 UK areas, examining 331 search terms associated with house moves.

These included visits to major property websites like Rightmove and Zoopla and practical tools like ” calculator” and “stamp duty calculator.”

David Burrows, Head of Getamover.co.uk, noted the significance of these findings: “It’s fascinating to see which areas searched most for terms related to moving house as it shows which areas may be gathering information the most before entering the property market.

“However, it’s important to remember that moving house isn’t just looking for properties, sorting the finances, and signing on the dotted line.”
