There are so many sights to explore within St Davids, and two noteable landscapes that lie to the north of the city are Whitesands Bay and St Davids Head.
Whitesands Bay is a mile-long sandy Blue Flag beach sheltered by Ramsey Island. It is perfect for surfers or paddlers and it is known as one of the best surfing beaches in Pembrokeshire.
At a very low tide, the remains of an ancient forest can be seen from the beach, consisting of stumps of birch, fir, hazel and oak trees.
The stunning beach has many facilities including a beach shop, cafe, golf course and camp site which is open from Easter to the end of October.

Visitors can take on a walking trail at St Davids Head
Just a mile away is St Davids Head, which marks the divide between the Irish Sea and the Celtic Sea. The beautiful headland is recognised for its wildflowers and wildlife.
The area is owned by the National Trust and visitors can embark on a walk through Pembrokeshire’s most dramatic coastal headland.
The 3.75-mile trail takes around one hour and 15 minutes to complete and is the ideal opportunity to view St Davids wild terrain, prehistoric monuments and stunning wildlife.
