Patrick Christys and Emily Carver hosted GB News’s Christmas Breakfast show.
Patrick Christys and his wife, Emily Carver, were at the helm of the channel’s Breakfast show on Wednesday morning. The duo were joined by GB News’s Home and Security Editor Mark White, who called out the show’s producers for taking a jibe at “his weight”.
He said: “When you said you were going to check in with Santa I thought, ‘Come on!’ I know I spoke about my weight issues earlier!
“I’m on my starvation diet, they were calling me fat.” A shocked Emily then asked: “Who is calling you fat?”
Mark answered: “The producer! One of your producers! I had a little bit of chocolate and he said, ‘I thought you were on a starvation diet before your Turkey holiday?’”
Patrick said: “You don’t need to go on a starvation diet!” Emily then told her husband: “You do sometimes,” before adding: “I never body shame, do I?”

Patrick replied: “You were still with me when I was a heifer,” and Emily joked: “Exactly, so there you go. You know I am not superficial at all…the problem with working in television is that we have the evidence forever.”

The pair don’t usually appear on the Breakfast show – Emily hosts Good Afternoon Britain, and Patrick hosts the 9pm show Patrick Christys Tonight – but they made a special appearance on Christmas Day.
It comes as Patrick and Emily have survived a cull at GB News. A major hosting shake-up has resulted in the sackings of Breakfast’s and late-night weekend host Mark Dolan. has also had his hours cut from four days a week to two.

The 32-year-old, from Cheshire, explained that other commitments meant he had to travel to the north of the country and could not film the show.
He wrote on on Thursday afternoon (December 19): “Hi everyone, just a little note from me to say unfortunately I won’t be hosting 9-11pm @GBNEWS tonight – I’ve had to nip back up north to help out with something.
“I think the great Ben Leo is covering so please do tune in, he’ll have a brilliant show for you. See you tomorrow!”
Ben Leo has come out of the GB News shake-up very well. He is replacing Mark Dolan on Saturday and Sunday nights with Ben Leo Tonight and will also continue to co-host Britain’s Newsroom on Fridays.
Isabel Webster has been replaced by Ellie Costello who will present the Breakfast show with on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and with Stephen Dixon on Thursday and Friday.
In a statement, GB News said changes to the presenting line-up were part of “initiatives to build on success with a renewed focus and ambition”.
