has expressed a desire to spend more time with his two youngest grandchildren, and .

The 76-year-old monarch, who was diagnosed with cancer earlier this year, has only spent time with his grandson a handful of times – with these visits mostly taking place when the Duke and Duchess of Sussex still lived in the UK. The King is thought to have met his granddaughter in 2022 – with this being their first and only meet.

Speaking of the festive period, one source has stated that there is “no better time” for a reunion to take place than at Christmas time.

A source recently told : “King Charles has expressed his wishes to see his grandchildren – and there’s no better time than the festive period to bring families together. There is no feeling like being a grandparent and it is a role King Charles relishes.

“It is his hope for his family to be reunited and there’s no better way than spending quality time with his grandchildren at Christmas. It would be truly special.”
