Steve Edge is most famous for his numerous comedic roles however he is well known for his role as Billy Dawson in Benidorm.
The Staffordshire-born actor, 52, made his first TV appearance in 2000 as Alan in That Peter Kay Thing. Steve went on to work with comedian Peter Kay again in Phoenix Nights, where he played the character of Alan again.
After small roles on sitcoms such as Cold Feet, Family Business, No Angels, and Peep Show, Steve once again reprised his role as Alan in Max & Paddy’s Road to Nowhere.
Other notable roles include David ‘Doddsy’ Dodds in Mike Bassett: Manager, Bigsy in Scaborough, David Foster in The Reluctant Landlorad, Mr. Styles in Scallywagga, and Terry McConnell in The Cup.
He also played multiple characters in the sketch show Star Stories. Between 2012 and 2013, he starred as Fergie in Starlings, before going on to play the Dad in All at Sea. Happy Valley fans might remember him as Graham Tattersall in the brilliant drama. More recently, Steve played the straight role of DS Collins in Until I Kill You.

The actor has now made a return to our TV screens as he stars in the Madame Blanc Mysteries Christmas special. The Channel 5 drama sees Steve reprise his role as Dom Hayes, Jean’s love interest.
The synopsis for the festive special reads: “It’s Christmas Eve in Sainte Victoire’s bustling Christmas market, and father-and-son puppeteers Frederick and Christian are in a festive mood, drinking mulled wine as they prepare for their show.”
It continued: “But later, as Christian entertains the crowd, Frederick misses his cue — and a vendor nearby screams when she finds Frederick’s body on the ground, a blood-soaked puppet still on his hand. When Jean searches the crime scene, she discovers something sinister about the puppet, and as she and Caron investigate, Jean becomes certain Frederick’s death was no accident.

“Elsewhere, Judith receives an alarming Christmas card from her former bridesmaid which reveals an unsettling fact about her marriage, and Dom is thrilled when Jean invites him to stay the night at her place for the first time as a couple.”
Away from our TV screens Steve prepares to live a more private life and has chosen not to share much with his followers. According to reports, Steve is married to a mystery woman and the pair tied the knot in August 2014.
The actor also has a close friendship with fellow comedian Jason Manford and the pair have worked together on a podcast and on Absolute Radio. Jason was reportedly best man at Steve’s wedding and Stece is also godfather to Manford’s twin daughters.
The Madame Blanc Mysteries Christmas special will air on Christmas Eve on Channel 5 at 9.15pm in the UK
