See Tiger Woods’ son hit first hole-in-one at PNC Championship — then celebrate with his dad

Tiger Woods’ son accomplished a serendipitous feat — hitting a hole-in-one while paired with his dad.

The golf pro teamed up with his 15-year-old son, Charlie, during the PNC Championship on Dec. 22. At this year’s competition, which took place at the Ritz-Carlton GC in Orlando, Charlie scored his first-ever ace at the fourth hole.

In a clip shared by Golf Channel, Charlie Woods takes his swing and looks ahead after he makes his shot, which lands on the green and straight into the hole.

Charlie Woods doesn’t seem to realize he made a hole-in-one at first, as he suddenly looks shocked and then breaks into a smile. Tiger Woods immediately goes in to hug him, followed by a loving shove.

“I mean it was awesome; I didn’t think it went in. I don’t believe anybody until I go up there and see it,” Charlie Woods said in an NBC Sports clip.

During the PNC Championship, the father-son duo was competing in a field of 20 major golf champions, each paired with a respective family member. Charlie Woods hit the monumental shot on the last day of the tournament.

Along with Charlie Woods, Tiger Woods’ daughter, Sam Woods, caddied for the legendary golfer during the tournament, rounding out the family team.

During a post-match press conference, the father-son duo talked about their reaction to the hole-in-one and spending the day together.

“We went nuts,” Tiger Woods told reporters. “I don’t know what we did, but we enjoyed it. It was an unbelievable moment.”

Charlie Woods said that achieving his hole-in-one and doing the 2024 tournament with his dad was the most fun he’s ever had on the golf course, and Tiger Woods added that his son’s ace was “a thrill of a lifetime.”

“Being able to have that moment with Charlie make his first hole-in-one, Sam (Woods) on the bag… that’s what this event is about. It’s about bonding and family,” he said.

The pair ended up finishing as runner-up in this year’s tournament.

Tiger and Charlie Woods made their debut at the PNC Championship together four years ago in 2020. Charlie Woods, who was 11 at the time, made his first-ever eagle at the match.

This past summer, Charlie Woods made his U.S. Golf Association championship debut when he qualified for the U.S. Junior Amateur at Oakland Hills in Michigan, and his dad was there to watch him.
