A couple who love adventures have wowed fans by transforming an old school bus into their dream abode within just six months.
Getting onto the can be a daunting task – with the high costs of purchasing and maintaining a home, it often means sacrificing travel to make ends meet. However, this innovative duo discovered a budget-friendly solution to create their very own home. Not only is it affordable, but it also doubles as a means to travel.
Tanya – dubbed ‘Queen Beep’ online – and her partner Arya have amassed a staggering 8.2 million likes on after they offered a glimpse into their converted school bus home.
The US-based couple snapped up a 72-seater old bus for a mere $7200 (£5,736), having scoured Facebook Marketplace and Craigslist for second-hand buses.
They set out with the ambition to self-educate in the art of transforming a vehicle into “the tiny home of our dreams.” “Fast forward six months and we did it,” exclaimed Tanya.

In 6 months we built a school bus into our dream home. Nearly killed us. Tried to quit, half joked about setting it on fire. Ran out of funds so took on another job, worked on the bus evenings and weekends. Had help from friends and family & FINALLY FINISHED IT!
On their channel, Tanya shared: “We are an adventurous couple who took on the challenge of converting a school bus into our very own home on wheels. Our mission is to live life to the fullest, while minimizing our impact on the environment.”
The pair, who had previously lived in a van, invested $40,000 (£31,839) to gut the bus and convert it into a cosy living space complete with a full kitchen, bedroom, bathroom with shower, and lounge area.
The couple revealed: “In six months we transformed a school bus into our dream home. It was a near breaking point for us. We even half joked about setting it on fire when we thought of quitting. Funds ran out, so we took on another job and worked on the bus during evenings and weekends. Friends and family lent a hand and finally, we finished it.”
The mobile home is equipped with an oven, washer dryer, a compact fridge and freezer, and they use solar panels to power lights, laptops, kettle, wash dryer, and an electric heater in the bathroom, as well as batteries. They spend up to $130 each time they need to refuel and they enjoy travelling to various locations and parking up for overnight stays.

To find suitable spots to park and sleep, they utilise the iOverlander app and search for free locations with scenic views. When asked how they manage to drive with all their belongings inside the home, Tanya explained: “We usually park in a place for 2-3 weeks at a time so they’re fine for a while, when we pack up to move I just put away.”
She also mentioned that the ‘skoolie’ has ample storage space. She said there are “four main clothing storage areas in our skoolie, and added: ” and added: “But as for our everyday clothing, everything we own and need fits into one of those wooden totes each.”
Extra clothes are stored under the bus for warmer weather and rotated accordingly – so sometimes our closet is super full, and sometimes empty.” The couple have now decided to sell their unique home and can be contacted via social media.
