When travelling, Ian Wilson, Managing Director at the insurance comparison site has warned motorists to avoid wearing clothing that could .
He warned: “With Christmas approaching, we are issuing a final warning to motorists to help them avoid making easy mistakes which could land them in trouble.
“Simple things such as wearing novelty 3D Christmas jumpers or festive costumes can hinder your ability to drive safely, resulting in fines.”

Whilst many Brits love to get into the festive spirit by wearing clothing like Christmas jumpers and hats, it is vital that drivers make sure they are not going to be a distraction.
No matter what a driver wears, they must be able to have good control over all of their vehicle’s controls to prevent being unable to repsond to sudden situations on the road.
Drivers spotted wearing unacceptable Christmas clothing will typically face an on-the-spot fine of £100. However, if the clothing item was considered responsible for causing a serious accident, it could rise sharply to £5,000 and nine points on their licence.

Similarly, Ian also recommended that drivers avoid over-filling their vehicle with presents, which could restrict their view of the road and lead to fines of at least £100.
He added: “Other issues include overfilling your car with presents and blocking the view out of the rear windscreen.
“While you may think it’s fine to drive like this for a short distance in order to drop off presents with loved ones, restricting your view can endanger yourself and other road users.”
