From cars to large SUVs and a whole lot in between, here’s what to expect in family transport in the new year
There are many types of families in the world, so there are many types of cars and SUVs that can be considered “family vehicles.” Mid-size and large cars, compact SUVs, midsize SUVs, or large three-row SUVs may all qualify as appropriate for moving a crowd, depending on that crowd’s size. With a tonne of new products on the way in the next year or so that meets this definition, we’ve added some attributes to narrow down this list of the new family vehicles coming in 2025.
Now, onto the people-movers. Here are 12 of the top new vehicles for families coming in 2025.

2026 Hyundai Ioniq 9
A new three-row electric SUV contender launches next year with the arrival of the 2026 Hyundai Ioniq 9. It offers seating for up to seven passengers and riffs on the futuristic design cues of the Ioniq 5 and Ioniq 6, with plenty of straight lines and pixelated lighting. Three different variations will be offered, with the longest-range version shooting for 480 kilometres (300 miles) of range.

2025 Jeep Wagoneer S
Here’s what we know so far: Jeep is targeting a 480-kilometre range and a 20%-to-80% DC fast-charging time of 23 minutes. The Wagoneer S will be sold with two rows and five seats. Power is slated to max out at 600 hp. Pricing on the 2025 Jeep Wagoneer S has yet to be announced as of this writing.

2025 Volkswagen Tiguan
It also receives a major interior overhaul with improved materials and better technology, including a standard 10.25-inch digital gauge cluster and 12.9-inch infotainment screen, with a larger 15-inch screen available for the latter. Pricing is still to come on the 2025 Volkswagen Tiguan in Canada, but we do know we can expect to see it on Canadian roads by the summer of 2025.
