British woman vanishes after street festival on Caribbean island of St Lucia

A British woman has reportedly disappeared while partying at a street festival on the .

Jemima Colenso, originally from Somerset, was last seen at the bustling in Gros Islet on December 20, around 11:25pm.

She had been living aboard a yacht named “Lola”, moored at in the island’s northern region.

On the night she vanished, Jemima was reportedly wearing a brown-orange trouser suit.

St. Lucian police have launched a full-scale investigation, working tirelessly to locate Jemima.

A police spokesperson in Castries, the island’s capital, urged anyone with information to come forward.

They said: “We are appealing for any information revellers at the street party may have. She has gone missing, and we need to find her.”

The vibrant Friday Night street party is a renowned event that attracts visitors from around the globe, featuring music, food, and lively celebrations.

A local vendor, who has been serving partygoers for over 25 years, expressed concern about Jemima’s disappearance.

“People come here to have a good time and to be merry. We don’t expect them to go missing. I hope this young lady is found soon so we can all feel safe again.”
