The nation’s favourite Christmas film of all time has been revealed thanks to a new nationwide survey. Festive classics like It’s a Wonderful Life, Love Actually and Elf all made the top 10. However, number one may surprise you.

Interestingly, the much-debated Die Hard also ranked highly on the list, despite director John McTiernan refuting its status as a Christmas movie.

The study, conducted by Showcase Cinemas, also found that 82 percent of Brits would rather go to the cinema than the pantomime at Christmas, and 65 percent said watching Christmas films with their family and friends is one of their favourite things to do over the festive period.

Here are the nation’s top 10 favourite Christmas films of all time.
