Sprouts are not always a Christmas favourite – but this recipe might change your mind
Brussels sprouts often split opinion in UK households, with some adoring them and others steering clear.
However, a tantalising has surfaced that might just convert the staunchest of sprout skeptics.
Culinary whizz and sensation @emilycooking_ dishes out her kitchen wizardry to 158K followers, aiming to dazzle this Christmas with mouth-watering surprises and fresh twists on traditional tastes.
Amongst her culinary creations is the smashed crispy parmesan Brussels sprouts, which she touts as an ideal accompaniment to the festive feast or as a yuletide nibble.

Not every one loves Brussels sprouts
Emily shared her for crispy parmesan Brussels sprouts, instructing: “Clean and wash your Brussels sprouts. Boil some water into a pot and add some salt. Add Brussels sprouts and boil until slightly soft! Run under cold water, drain and dry with a paper towel then leave to cool.”
“Add some butter to the baking paper and sprinkle some seasoning on the baking paper. I used a mix of oregano, garlic, pepper, salt, cumin, paprika and all purpose seasoning, chilli flakes and sesame seeds. Also add some grated parmesan.”
She continued: “Place the Brussels sprouts on top and smash it! Using something flat, I used the bottom of the glass. Add extra parmesan and seasoning.”
“Cook in the oven or air fryer at 185C for about 20-30 minutes depending on how much you’ve cooked. You want to cook them so they are just slightly crispy and to your liking. So keep an eye on it while it’s cooking.”
“Remove from the tray and add as a side with your roast dinner, on its own or as a side with any meal.”
