Born in Kingston upon Hull, East Riding of Yorkshire on August 27, 1969, Reece Shearsmith is a renowned comedian and actor. He met fellow actors and collaborators Mark Gatiss and Steve Pemberton at Bretton Hall College of Education.

The trio later joined forces with Jeremy Dyson to establish the League of Gentlemen comedy troupe in 1995, touring extensively throughout the 1990s.

They penned and starred in The League of Gentlemen TV series, which depicted the peculiar lives of residents in the fictional town of Royston Vasey.

The 55 year old has a rich history of TV appearances, including roles in Doctor Who, Spaced, The World’s End, Good Omens and ITV drama The Widower, where he starred alongside Sheridan Smith.

Reece is happily married to theatre dresser Jane Shearsmith, who he first encountered on tour during a play.

The couple share two children, their 21 year old daughter Holly and 20 year old son Danny.

His daughter Holly made her screen debut in the first episode of Psychoville as the birthday girl who gets a makeover from Mr Jelly the clown, a character played by Reece himself.
