, the multi-talented TV host, could be on the brink of a significant career change, swapping presenting for acting after training at drama school in his younger years.
The former Blue Peter star, who also hosted ‘s The One Show and currently fronts , has expressed his desire to star in a period drama.
Despite showcasing his dance skills on in 2010 and filming reality shows from his family farm for Channel 4, Matt is also keen to return to his first love – acting.
Speaking to the Sunday Mail, the dad-of-two revealed: “I would love to revisit that world and act in a period drama. On-screen acting would be fun.”

He also hinted at a potential collaboration with his wife Nicola Baker, who is a physiotherapist and a successful children’s book author, saying: “We’ve talked about doing stuff together, absolutely.”
The couple, who recently celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary, work together on their Durham Dales farm and have two children, Luke and Molly.
Nicola has previously spoken about the challenges of farming and taking care of livestock, telling Good Housekeeping: “The toughest moments for me are when the weather turns and the responsibilities become greater.

“You can’t just decide not to go out and feed that day.
“Sometimes, on the coldest, wettest days, summer feels a lifetime away.
“It certainly makes you appreciate our seasons,” the Our Farm in the Dales star candidly added.
