The Chase host Bradley Walsh welcomed a line-up of celebrities
ITV’s aired a star-studded Christmas special on Saturday December 21, with host welcoming celebrities Jenni Falconer, Lesley Joseph, Judge Jules, and Patrick Kielty, all playing for their chosen charities. Shaun “The Dark Destroyer” Wallace took on the role of quizmaster, challenging the stars to a gruelling trivia battle.
Jenni, Lesley, and Judge Jules each delivered flawless performances, amassing a collective £21,000 for the final chase.
Patrick Kielty, as the last contestant, faced the cash builder with commendable courage, opting for the higher stake of £179,000. His bold move paid off, as Shaun was outperformed, bringing the team’s total to an impressive £200,000 – a hefty £50,000 per charity when split.
The climax of the episode saw the four celebrities gear up for a tense showdown with the chaser.
With 20 correct answers and several successful pushbacks, the team narrowly clinched victory over Shaun. While the celebrities celebrated their remarkable triumph, some viewers expressed their scepticism online, reports Liverpool Echo.
The Chase’s Shaun Wallace was accused of ‘giving the stars an easy time’
On Twitter, Sianbob commented: “It really annoys me how many questions the chasers throw when it comes to the charity shows. We all know you are not that dumb guys come off it.”
Dr Jan echoed the sentiment, tweeting: “The chaser is so clearly letting them win its not even funny.”
Meanwhile, Andrew T criticised the difficulty level, saying: “These questions are so easy.”
Essexbird voiced her opinion on Twitter saying: “I love #TheChase but why are the questions on the celebrity episode so much easier than the general public episodes? My husband just said ‘if I can answer them all there’s something wrong’.”
