Death In Paradise season 14 is almost upon us, so when exactly will it start and who are the stars of this Christmas special?
For the past 13 years, Death In Paradise has been delighting viewers with its eccentric detectives and puzzling investigations, showing no signs of stopping.
The beloved crime drama has not only spawned a franchise with the inception of Beyond Paradise and Australia’s Return to Paradise, but the original show has also been renewed for a 14th season.
As Death In Paradise prepares for its return, here’s everything you need to know about its comeback, including who will be stepping into Ralf Little’s shoes.
Death In Paradise season 14 start date
In keeping with recent series, a Christmas special of Death In Paradise is set to launch the latest series, which will continue sometime in the New Year.
The Death In Paradise Christmas special 2024, and subsequently the premiere episode of series 14, will air on Sunday, December 22, at 8.30pm on One and iPlayer.
However, American fans will have to wait a bit longer for the same episode, as it will be released on Britbox in the US on New Year’s Eve, December 31.
At present, it’s unclear exactly when Death In Paradise season 14 will resume for the remainder of the series following the debut episode.

Death In Paradise season 14 cast
At the conclusion of series 13, viewers bid farewell to DI Neville Parker (portrayed by Ralf Little), who departed with DS Florence Cassell (Josephine Jobert) at his side.
The forthcoming 14th series will introduce a new detective, DI Mervin Wilson, played by actor Don Gilet, injecting some fresh vigour into the show after Little’s four-year tenure.
Don Gilet is perhaps most recognised for his roles as Lucas Johnson in , DS Nicky Cole in 55 Degrees North and Jesse Law in Holby City.
The usual cast members are set to accompany Mervin, including Don Warrington as The Commissioner, Shantol Jackson as Naomi, Elizabeth Bourgine as Catherine, Ginny Holder as Darlene and Danny John-Jules as Dwayne.

Regrettably, actress Jobert has already announced that she will not be reprising her role as Florence following her and Neville’s exit from Saint Marie.
As per tradition, each episode will welcome a host of guest stars to the sandy shores, and the Christmas special is no exception.
Joining the regular cast for the festive episode are Angela Griffin from The Wives, Steven Hartley from Happy Valley, Michael Salami from Supacell, Dex Lee from Doctors and Jim Howick from Ghosts.
