However, in a recent statement to The Daily Mail, Carlos downplayed the situation, saying: “We’re fine. We’ve been friends since childhood, and friends argue, we’re too close and are like brother and sister to completely fall out.”

This comes after reports that the two had unfollowed each other on social media and were no longer on speaking terms. A show insider revealed to The Sun that the atmosphere on set became awkward and tense when both dancers were present, with some even expressing relief when Carlos was absent from the show a few weeks ago.

Nevertheless, another source told MailOnline that the pro dancers remain “extremely cordial and always incredibly professional on Strictly premises”.

In the latest series, professional dancer Carlos has not been paired with a celebrity, unlike previous seasons where he danced with actress Molly Rainford and TV presenter Angela Scanlon.

A source close to the show revealed that Carlos is feeling down after a recent disagreement and is finding it tough without a celebrity partner this year. His friends are concerned for his wellbeing, especially since he’s far from his family, reports .

In a telling move, Carlos removed all photos of Nancy from his social media and the pair have unfollowed each other on , signalling a definitive end to their friendship.

However, things are looking brighter for Carlos as he is appearing on the Strictly 20th anniversary special this weekend, as well as the Christmas special, which is airing on Christmas Day.
