Jane McDonald said the awkward moment led to her securing a panellist role
, the former star, has addressed an emotional moment on the show that led to her becoming a regular panellist.
The 61-year-old was a part of the programme from 2004 to 2010 and has since returned for appearances.
Before joining the panel, Jane was a guest on the show around the same time she had secretly split from her ex-husband Henrik Brixen.
Not knowing about their break-up, the panellists brought up her marriage while on air and showed fans her wedding video, which left Jane “in bits”.

Reflecting on the awkward moment, she said: “Yeah I was a guest and I remember it was the first interview when Henrik had left me.
“And it was my first coming out and you showed [my] wedding video and I was in bits I thought, oh, blimey, I’ve not seen this.
“So that’s when they knew I’d be a good loose woman, I suppose, because I was very honest and I just said, ‘He’s left me. I don’t know what to do’.”
After How To Be 60 podcast host Kaye Adams asked if she felt “ambushed” by the panellists, Jane replied: “I did, but then, you know, I thought – that’s good, because I’ve talked about it now.

“So it was like therapy coming on there. And I was glad it was all out. And I was glad I looked good.”
Jane and Henrik, who also served as her manager, were married from 1998 to 2003.
Previously discussing their break-up, the singer said he walked out on her in a bid to save her career.
She told The Mirror: “Henrik tried his very, very best and he was brilliant at what he did, but he didn’t know the industry.
“We’d come to a point where Henrik had made quite a few enemies and he said, ‘If I don’t leave you, you are never going to have a career’.
“And that is why I never talk about Henrik in a bad light at all because he was the one that walked out of the marriage to save my career.”
Jane eventually found love again with The Searchers star Eddie Rothe, who sadly lost his battle with lung cancer in 2021.
The singer has since told Heat Magazine that while she’s not prioritising dating right now, she’s open to the possibility.
“I’m not saying I’d never date again, but it’s way down on my list of things that I want to do.
“I was very lucky, I had the most amazing relationship with Ed, and not many people get that in life.
“So, if I never have another date in my life, that’s fine. If I do, that’s also fine,” she added.
Jane McDonald’s Christmas Cruising airs tonight at 7pm on Channel 5.
