Paris Fury told heartbreaking lie to Tyson hours before Oleksandr Usyk fight

Paris Fury, the wife of heavyweight boxing legend , faced a heart-wrenching ordeal as she suffered a miscarriage at home while her husband was preparing to face in Saudi Arabia.

The 35-year-old mother was six months pregnant with their eighth child when a gender scan revealed there was no heartbeat. This devastating news came just one day before Tyson’s first professional defeat at the hands of Usyk via split decision.

, Paris disclosed the immense burden of choosing between sharing her agony with Tyson or keeping it to herself to preserve his focus on the undisputed title dream. Ultimately, she decided to conceal the truth. “I had to make the ­decision, do I tell him? And I came to the conclusion that whatever was happening with me, I couldn’t change it. But I could change dramatically what was happening in his life,” Paris confided.

To avoid flying to Riyadh and to keep her tragic secret, she fabricated a health issue: “I made up a lie that I had high blood pressure. It was the only thing I could think of that would stop me from flying without having to give him the terrible news,” she added.

Fury spared no effort by offering a private jet to bring his wife Paris to the Middle East, though he realized something wasn’t right when she declined, admitting, “I didn’t want to believe it”. During a gender scan, Paris sensed trouble as she didn’t see a heartbeat “flickering” on the screen.

Recalling the harrowing moment, she said: “The sonographer said to me, ‘I’m really sorry, Paris, there’s no heartbeat.’ I jumped up, started to cry, and said, ‘No, hold on, hold on. No, no, wait,’ and went all frantic”. Despite the tragedy, Paris lauded the “exceptional” hospital team that assisted in delivering her stillborn son without anaesthesia. The sorrowful news was shared with Tyson after his defeat by the Ukrainian boxer upon returning to the United Kingdom.

Reflecting on the pain, Paris expressed a poignant resilience: “At the time it feels like your world is ripped to pieces. But I know everyone can get through it. And what is so traumatic one day, becomes a memory. You know, you had that little piece of life, even if it’s such a short time.” Additionally, she stated: “Mentally I’m at ease with what went on. Physically, I’m OK.”

Determined never to miss another of Tyson’s bouts, Paris is set to support him ringside in his forthcoming rematch with Usyk this Saturday night. “I said after the last fight, I’d never miss another one. I think there was just too much going on in his head last time,” she remarked. Her faith in his victory is unabashed: “And yeah, I think 100 per cent he’ll be coming home with the belt.”
