Prime Minister Keir Starmer
WASPI women are the latest group of pensioners Sir Keir Starmer has betrayed.
In Opposition, almost every single Cabinet Minister pledged to support the campaign.
Starmer posed grinning beside WASPI women, personally promising ‘fair and fast’ compensation.
If only they knew, once he got what he needed from them, he would do a screeching u-turn.
People often complain about politicians saying one thing when they need your vote, and doing another once they get in.
It is hugely damaging to trust in democracy. But this Government is doing everything in its power to prove the stereotype true.
Before the election, when they needed pensioners to turn out for them, Starmer gave them his word that he would be on their side.
Then he ripped the Winter Fuel Payments from 10 million pensioners, throwing 100,000 into poverty, while bunging millions of pounds to his union paymasters.
When he needed farmers to lend their votes to him, resulting in Labour’s record number of seats in the countryside, he promised he would support them.
Then he brought in the family farms tax which could potentially destroy our green and pleasant land.
And when Labour needed businesses onside, they launched the prawn cocktail offensive.
And then – at the first possible opportunity – they hiked the very taxes they said they wouldn’t touch.
has taken the British people for a ride. The worst part is, they show no sign of remorse or responsibility – blaming everyone other than themselves.
They take the British people for fools and they don’t even seem to care.
No apologies from Liz Kendall, or Rachel Reeves for blatantly misleading the WASPI women, just finger pointing and petty political point scoring.
It makes me think, who’s in ’s crosshairs next?
