Sarah Ferguson’s 10-word verdict on Prince Andrew as she opens up in rare chat

Sarah, the Duchess of York, has shown her steadfast support for amid the ongoing controversies surrounding him.

In a candid interview with , where she was joined by her sister Jane, the Duchess shared personal insights into her royal connections and her recent health struggles.

Her support comes at a time when the Duke of York is under scrutiny for his alleged links to a Chinese businessman Yang Tengbo, known only as H6 to begin with, who has been accused of being a Chinese spy.

Despite initial concerns about their relationship, ’s office confirmed that he had “ceased all contact” with the entrepreneur.

Yet, Sarah reaffirmed her loyalty to her ex-husband, saying: “I won’t let him down. He supports me as much as I support him. He’s supported me through thick and thin, not just marriage or divorce.”

Reflecting on their relationship, Sarah added: “I was totally and utterly in love with Andrew. I would do it all over again, 100 per cent.”

In a gushing 10-word remark, she continued: “He’s the best, a great man with a great heart, and kind.”

She later added: “Our wedding was the best day of my life. But I gave up my anonymity that day. I was able to because love conquers all. It’s still with us today.”

In addition to her heartfelt comments about , Sarah also opened up about her personal health journey.

She revealed how she was diagnosed with melanoma just months after being diagnosed with breast cancer, adding: “Jane insisted I get a mammogram; she saved my life,” she said. “I was sure I was going to die, then I looked up ‘mastectomy’ and faced it.”

In July 2023, the mum-of-two underwent an eight-hour mastectomy, and during follow-up surgery, doctors discovered a malignant melanoma. The Duchess, whose father died from melanoma, described the diagnosis as terrifying.

She recalled nearly fainting on New Year’s Eve 2023 when she first received the news.

Later that year, in October, Sarah spoke to about her health journey while attending an event in Manchester to support Prevent Breast Cancer.

There, she met with actress Sally Dynevor, who was working to secure the future of the National Breast Imaging Academy through a final fundraising push.

Sarah was quick to offer her help. “I had to help!,” she said. “I told Sally, ‘I’m coming to Manchester.’ We’ll get to work and help you raise the last £600,000. Every little bit helps, and that’s why everyone doing all this work here is so important. Fifty-seven thousand people are diagnosed with breast cancer every year, and I am very proud and excited to be part of the National Breast Imaging Academy.”
