Jane McDonald teases new TV series in huge career announcement

Jane McDonald has teased her upcoming TV project, which will start filming in 2025. The singer shared the exciting news during an appearance on ITV’s This Morning, promising that the new series will be “bigger” and “better” than anything she’s done before.

Jane, 61, was on the show to talk about her current stage role as Maid Marion in Robin Hood at The London Palladium alongside co-stars Nigel Havers and Marisha Wallace.

However, the conversation quickly shifted to her forthcoming TV series, which is set to start filming in February.

“I’m filming a new Channel 5 series, which is coming up soon, which is going to be very, very exciting. Much bigger, much better than we’ve ever done. So, that’s a new series starting in February – starting filming in February,” she revealed to hosts Josie Gibson and Dermot O’Leary.

When Josie asked if the show would feature her on cruises again, Jane playfully hinted, “We could be, could be,” before joyfully confirming, “Yes, yes, I’m going to be on the sea again! So that’s very exciting.”

She also hinted at the possibility of including an “odd song” in the TV show, much to the delight of Josie, who confessed to being a big fan of Jane’s TV series, reports Leeds Live.

This comes after Jane delighted fans by announcing her move into radio, hosting a festive show filled with music and memories on ‘s Radio 2 on Christmas Day.

Jane excitedly took to social media to announce her Christmas Day special on Radio 2, saying: “I’m so excited to be back on Radio 2 for Christmas Day again this year. Make sure you tune in wherever you are, as we’ll have all the festive cheer you need… with all the trimmings.”

She promises a mix of holiday hits from icons like Wham!, Shakin’ Stevens, with Ed Sheeran, and Mariah Carey, alongside sharing “funny memories and heart-warming stories” from Christmases past.

The show will air at midday on Radio 2 on December 25, and fans are already expressing their delight.
