has spoken out for the first time since it was revealed has been axed from .

The Northern Irish broadcaster, 65, has worked closely with Isabel, 41, on their Breakfast Show for the last three years.

However, , GB News has appeared to switch up their partnership without any warning.

Starting in 2025, Ellie Costello will step in to co-anchor GBN Breakfast five days a week, sharing the screen with Eamonn from Monday to Wednesday.

Breaking his silence, Eamonn avoided mentioning his co-star’s shocking axe as he shared an emotional post about his mum on .

Sharing a snap of him alongside his beloved mum Josephine, who died in November 2022, the former presenter admitted he was devastated at spending another Christmas without her.

“When folk ask me “What do u want for Christmas?” 3 Christmases without u now Mum and u r still top of my wish list,” he wrote in the caption.

Eamonn has formed a close friendship with Isabel since they began hosting the GB News Breakfast Show in 2022. She previously worked for and the .

A GB News spokesperson said on Wednesday: “Ellie Costello will now co-host GBN Breakfast five days a week, presenting alongside Eamonn Holmes on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and with Stephen Dixon on Thursday and Friday. Stephen and Anne Diamond will continue to co-present GB News Breakfast at Weekends.”

On Wednesday (December 18), Isabel took to to announce that with Eamonn, however, suggested she would be returning in 2025.

Meanwhile, Jacob Rees-Mogg has also had his hours cut. The 55-year-old usually presents State of the Nation four days a week, but will now host the programme on Mondays and Tuesdays only.

The channel is setting up Josh Howie as the new face of Free Speech Nation, taking over the Sunday evening slot from 7-9pm. Meanwhile Andrew Doyle is set to stay on board as a contributor.
