Seth Meyers went after Republicans including Rep. Nancy Mace (R-S.C.) on Wednesday for “losing” their minds over mysterious drone sightings in New Jersey and in other parts of the East Coast.
The “Late Night” host — who mocked mainstream media outlets for being “obsessed” with the sightings — noted that Republicans have spread “insane” conspiracy theories blaming Iran, President Joe Biden and aliens for the drones before turning to a clip of Mace’s recent suggestions.
“So my concern is if it’s not craft from outer space — because I think that has to be on the table, that has to be an option — is it our technology or is it Russia or Iran or China?” she asked in an interview with OutKick’s Clay Travis on Tuesday.
She later continued, “Are they looking for radiation? Are they looking for a missing nuclear warhead?”
“Oh my god, in one clip she managed to sound like a whole rack of supermarket tabloids,” Meyers joked.
“Is it aliens? Is it Russia and China? Are Brad and Jen getting back together?”
But Mace’s suggestion that aliens could be to blame, Meyers said, wasn’t even the “craziest” part of the clip.
“You think Russia or China lost a nuclear warhead and it’s in New Jersey? Did they lose it in a poker game in Atlantic City?” he quipped.
