Logan Paul previously took a swipe at , labelling him a “horrible boxer” – and now it seems the pair may settle their differences in the ring in India.

McGregor has stirred up the combat sports world by announcing on social media his preliminary agreement to face the YouTuber turned boxer in an exhibition match, putting his UFC career temporarily on ice. “The rumours of a bout with [UFC champion Illia] Topuria are false. I am in preliminary agreements with the Ambani family to face Logan Paul in a boxing exhibition in India. I have agreed. I will then seek my return to the Octagon,” McGregor declared.

While Paul has not yet responded to McGregor’s latest claim, he previously challenged the Irish fighter before his match with Dillon Danis, McGregor’s former teammate. “Conor McGregor is an average MMA fighter and a horrible boxer,” Paul asserted. “I’m going to beat the s*** out of his b**** Dillon and then I’m going beat the s*** out of him.”

Paul also taunted McGregor for not backing Danis with a hefty wager. “He ghosted me, he won’t even bet a million dollars on his fighter. That’s chump change for a guy like Conor, he won’t even bet a million dollars on Dillon. He had nothing to say when I called him out on Twitter. So do you think that he’s going to step in there himself? I don’t know, feels unlikely.”

Following his victory over Danis, Paul provocatively addressed McGregor: “Conor McGregor, you see that? . I took your b****, put him on a leash and took him for a walk. Who’s the real fighter now? “. McGregor has been out of the ring for over three years, since he broke his leg in the first round of his trilogy fight with Dustin Poirier. His only victory since 2016 was a swift 40-second knockout of Donald Cerrone in 2020.

After defeating Eddie Alvarez in two rounds eight years ago, McGregor suffered losses to Floyd Mayweather, Khabib Nurmagomedov and twice to Poirier. A comeback against Michael Chandler this summer was cancelled at two weeks’ notice due to a broken toe.

Last month, McGregor was found guilty of assaulting Nikita Hand in a Dublin hotel in December 2018 and ordered to pay over £200,000 to his victim. Paul, the elder brother of boxer Jake, made his debut against KSI in 2018, drawing with his social media rival in Manchester before losing to him in Los Angeles a year later.

He then fought Mayweather in an exhibition bout that wasn’t scored, followed by a win over Danis last year. Paul has since shifted his focus to his WWE career but announced his retirement during a recent episode of his podcast. “I am retired,” he declared. “Come on, I’m retired. I’m a dad, bro.”
