The top 10 destinations for British have been revealed – but the top tourist destination of has not even made the list.
The report comes from relocation experts at , which shared data revealing the countries the company has helped Brits move to the most between 2022 and 2024.
It is the that took the top spot, with the company commenting: “The US is a diverse place full of opportunity, suitable for any stage of life, whether you’re still in education, looking to start a business, or simply craving your next adventure.
“Also, the lack of a language barrier for UK residents makes the transition more manageable.”

“Combined with the weather, a stark contrast to the UK, travelling across the world to find your new home is irresistible.”
has become a popular tourist destination in recent years, but the UAE is now also offering expats several benefits.
“It’s sunny, modern, and safe, making it suitable for families. Dubai also has no income tax, making your take-home income considerably higher,” 1st Move International explained.
The data reveals that takes fourth place on the list, followed by New Zealand, and South Africa respectively.

When it comes to the places the world most wants to move to, it is Canada that is top of the list based on global Google search data analysed by 1st Move International. The North American country was the top-searched relocation destination in 74 countries.
Australia (second), Spain (third), (fourth) and the UK (fifth) are the next most desirable destinations for those looking to move to a different country.
Portugal (sixth), France and (joint seventh), the Netherlands (ninth) and Japan (10th) round off the top 10 list.
According to , approximately 98,000 British citizens emigrated from the UK in 2023, while a further 202,000 were citizens.
