The price of two main Christmas dinner staples is giving shoppers cause for festive cheer with Brussels sprouts and proving more wallet-friendly this year.
According to Netvouchercodes the cost of sprouts fell 7 per cent, from £1.07 per 500g to just 99p this year.
News has reported that a 10lb frozen turkey will cost £1.21 less than it did last year.
But while the price of other festive staples, such as and root vegetables including carrots and parsnips have soared, the total price of feeding the family is now down from £32.18 to £31.66.

Netvouchercodes found that while the price of Christmas dinner may appear to have gone down some Brits would still be forking out an average £49.33, with the amount of food likely to feed up to eight people.

Netvouchercodes estimated it would cost £136.16 to host Christmas at your own home for eight people in 2024. Looking at nine UK supermarkets, the average cost of Christmas Dinner will be £49.33.
Kitting your home out with decorations for Christmas will cost an average of £79.64.
The cost of utilities, including electricity, gas, water and broadband will cost £7.14 for the day, up 1.96% from prices in December 2023.
