was spotted in hysterics after a comedian made a joke about the joys of tents and camping at the
The show, which took place on November 22, aired on ITV1 and ITVX on December 15 for members of the public to watch.
While many fantastic acts performed in front of King Charles, who attended alone as Queen Camilla was at the time experiencing lingering symptoms of pneumonia, there was one comedian in particular that caught the 76-year-old monarch’s attention.
Around an hour into the performance, comedian Scott Bennett took to the stage with his stand-up comedy, joking about a range of topics from smart meters, to the , and even to camping.
When joking about a recent camping holiday he had been on, Scott joked that rather than stay at home, he had opted to sleep in a tent, something he called “an emergency”.

He then went on to joke about how loud the zips on tents are and even went as far as recreating the noise multiple times.
It was this that sent the King into hysterics in the royal box, with the camera showing the monarch smiling as the comedian continued to receive applause.
The performance was one of many held throughout the evening, with King Charles appearing delighted at the amount of talent on stage.
The King also seemed delighted as he waved to the crowds at the start of the evening following the national anthem.

Although Queen Camilla was set to attend the event, it was announced shortly before that she was being advised to rest as a result of lingering symptoms of a chest infection.
: “Following a recent chest infection, The Queen continues to experience some lingering post-viral symptoms, as a result of which doctors have advised that, after a busy week of engagements, Her Majesty should prioritise sufficient rest.
“With great regret, she has therefore withdrawn from attendance at tonight’s Royal Variety Performance. His Majesty will attend as planned.”
It is believed Queen Camilla, 77, has now made a full recovery in time for Christmas.
