When Chris and Dianne’s names were read out by Tess Daly, viewers couldn’t help but look at the reaction of their co-stars who were delighted for the pair.

Chris and his pro partner performed three routines to clinch the Glitterball trophy. Following their win, their fellow competitors huddled around them and chanted their names in celebration.

Many took to social media to react to the heart-warming moment. One person said on X: “How can you not love Vito, I mean he is the human equivalent to a Golden Retriever, he was happier for Chris and Dianne than I think Chris and Dianne were.”

A second also chimed in: “My initial response was ‘so awesome to see all the other finalists genuinely celebrating C&D’s win. It’s like they realise that thier achievement has transcended the normal bounds of a strictly series’ competition.” [sic]

A third also typed: “He [Vito] and Aljaz are delightful, their reactions couldn’t have been more genuine. What a fabulous series this has been.”

A fourth person said: “It was wonderful to see how happy the other 6 were!”

Speaking to Tess and Claudia Winkleman, Chris said after his win: “It’s astonishing. I don’t know what to say. I honestly thought I could go out in the first week or two.

“(Dianne is) positivity, she’s belief, and she’s honestly just one of the easiest people to be funny with.

“She deserves this so much. She’s just honestly one of the easiest people to be funny with the other and unless she changes her number, she’s stuck with me.

“This is for her (Dianne) and it’s for everyone out there that thought and got told they couldn’t do something.

“It just shows with opportunity and support and determination anything can happen.”

The victory also marked another milestone, as it was the first time Dianne has won ‘Strictly’ since she joined the show back in 2017.
