On Tuesday, Prince William undertook a heartwarming engagement at a military event where he revealed he doesn’t own a festive staple.
was seen handing out Christmas gifts to military families in Wiltshire yesterday, as Colonel-in-Chief of 1st Battalion Mercian Regiment.
The Prince of Wales visited the regiment for a Christmas event also attended by the soldiers’ families, who were all sporting festive jumpers.
However, when he was asked by an attendee why he was not wearing one too, he pointed at himself and said: “Some people don’t own one.”
During the engagement at Picton Barracks, the future King shared the details of his own Christmas plans, saying he will be spending the day with 45 members of his extended family “all in one room”. He also said he hoped for a long walk, including the dogs.

was heard saying: “Am I ready for Christmas?” he said while laughing. “No, no way am I ready.”
The Wales family will be spending the festive season at home in Norfolk before joining the Royal Family at Sandringham for their annual outing to church and lunch on December 25.
The future King was spotted speaking to several children during the event, who handed him festive cards and a Santa hat to give to his own children – Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.
One child made the Prince laugh after showing that he was wearing not one, but two Christmas jumpers. Afterwards he said: “I asked what does a prince do for fun?

“He said he likes watching movies and hanging out with his children but because he is over 40 finds fun hard to come by.”
The Prince of Wales stepped out for the royal engagement without Princess Kate, who was last seen in public on Friday evening, when she led the Together at Christmas carol concert, held at Westminster Abbey.
More than 20 members of the Royal Family, as well as relatives of the Princess of Wales, were in attendance at the event that’s now become a yearly staple in the royal calendar.
