Saturday Kitchen chef addresses replacing Prue Leith as she steps back from GBBO series

Former star Ravneet Gill has given a cryptic response about potentially replacing Prue Leith for a second time.

Prue, 84, announced earlier this year that she will no longer be a part of The Great Celebrity Bake Off for Stand Up To Cancer, due to wanting more free time in her schedule.

As of yet, a replacement for the judge, who will work alongside Paul , is yet to be revealed.

Quizzed on whether she’d be up for taking the spot, Ravneet, 33, insisted she was too busy and added: I’m sure they’ve filled the position already, let’s just say.

“I’m sure they’ve got a roster of people waiting for that job. I’m really happy on the kids [GBBO] to be honest, I love the kids.”

Ravneet replaced Prue on Junior Bake Off back in 2020 and has since been judging the show alongside her fellow Bake Off star Liam Charles.

Once judged by Paul and Prue on the The Great British Bake Off herself, she has nothing but praise for the pair.

“Paul has got the most mesmerising eyes I’ve ever looked into, that is true,” she spilled, in association with Smart Energy GB.

“When you see them, I thought, no I’m not going to be captivated by them, but they are amazing.

“And Prue is like a wealth of knowledge, she is so intelligent and she’s so worldly.”

Meanwhile, Prue has reassured fans that she has not left the show for good, after her announcement sparked concerns.

She said in a statement: “I’m still doing The Great American Baking Show.

“I’m still doing The Great British Bake Off, the two main shows of Bake Off. What I’m not doing this year is the celebrity one.

“It’s mainly because these things are filmed back to back. The whole way through the summer, so you start in April and you end at the end of August.

“Honestly, you get no time off. And, I’m getting a bit old and there’s places I want to go.”
