Top 10 Christmas songs ranked by Brits in new UK poll and Wham’s Last Christmas isn’t No 1.

Over the decades, some real chart crackers have gone on to become song staples. Now, a recent survey of 1000 Brits conducted by has discovered the Top 10 favourites according to UK adults, who were asked to select three. Check out the full list below, which included Wham’s Last Christmas coming in second on 22 per cent of the vote to another classic that topped the poll on 33 per cent of the vote.

10. Jingle Bell Rock (Bobby Helms)

The 1957 classic has over a billion streams on Spotify and is considered Bobby Helms’ signature song – one he claimed until his dying day that co-author with guitarist Hank Garland despite credit going to Joe Beal and Jim Boothe. Brenda Lee would go on to record a 1964 cover that was released the same year as her iconic Rockin’ Around The Christmas Tree. Nevertheless, her take on Jingle Bell Rock has charted yearly on the Billboard Top 100 since 2019.

9. Merry Christmas Everyone (Shakin’ Stevens)

This Welsh hit by Michael Barratt was Christmas No 1 in 1985 and has been back in the UK single charts a few times, reaching No 6 in 2020. Merry Christmas Everyone was originally set to release in 1984 but was pushed back a year to avoid clashing with Band Aid’s charity single, Do They Know It’s Christmas.

8. It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas (Perry Como)

Initially written in 1951, many artists have recorded this festive song over the years. However, the original hit was that of Perry Como and the Fontane Sisters before Bing Crosby released his cover two weeks later. In the modern era, it’s Michael Bublé’s version that achieved chart success, peaking at No 6 in 2022.

7. Feliz Navidad (José Feliciano)

First recorded by the Puerto Rican singer in 1970, the Spanish for Merry Christmas has since become popular worldwide. In 2010, the original recording was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame.
