Anger in posh UK village over celebrity’s farm as locals fume ‘it doesn’t fit in!’

A former glamour model has sparked anger in a small UK village by displaying a naked mannequin in a Shrek mask, a pink skull, and a flag with the words ‘Welcome to the s*** show” emblazoned across it.

Jodie Marsh, also known for her appearances on reality TV shows such as Big Brother, founded Fripps Farm Animal Rescue in the village of Lindsell, Essex, back in 2020.

. Many are dogs, cats and rabbits, but there are also llamas, marmosets and deer.

But it is the more colourful objects on display at the farm’s exterior that have angered locals.

Speaking to the , one retired woman from Lindsell said: “It’s not quite ‘in keeping’ is it?”

Another person said the farm “just doesn’t really fit into the area.”

While it was reported that Ms Marsh had been forced to put the property on the market, she denied this.

Ms Marsh said: “There’s NO WAY I’m selling! In fact, I’m building more enclosures. I’m happier than I’ve ever been since setting up Fripps Farm.”

Her hopes of expanding the farm took a hit earlier this year when Uttlesford District Council rejected her application for a dangerous wild animal licence.

Ms Marsh wanted to take in eight lemurs.

She also alleged that neighbours from across the road have hurled abuse her way.

Speaking to the Telegraph, Ms Marsh claimed: “It was awful. It wasn’t about the animals. It was clearly about who I am, although they didn’t even know me.

“They shout vile stuff at people who come to visit me too. I had one visitor with terminal cancer, she had three months to live and coming to visit my animals was on her bucket list.

“She arrived with her little daughter and those people…even shouted abuse at them. A dying woman with a young child. It was disgusting.”

Addressing her unconventional decorations, she added: “I put these up in response to their behaviour. “They’re funny, aren’t they.”
