Five people were transported to hospital, two in critical condition
Highway 99 is closed in both directions in the Mud Bay area of Surrey due to a multi-vehicle accident Thursday evening.

B.C. Emergency Health Services spokesperson Bowen Osoko said emergency services were called to the scene at 5:36 p.m. regarding “a significant motor vehicle incident involving several vehicles on Highway 99 in Surrey just south of Highway 91.”
Osoko said four ambulances with primary care paramedics, three ambulances with advanced care paramedics, an air ambulance helicopter with critical care paramedics and a supervisor responded to the scene.
“Paramedics provide emergency medical treatment to seven patients. Five patients were transported to hospital, three in stable condition and two in critical condition,” she said.
