Police are asking anyone who witnessed the collision or who has dashcam video of it to contact them ‘as quickly as possible’
Police are seeking witnesses or dashcam video after a woman was struck by a car Saturday in Vancouver and severely injured.
A 68-year-old woman was crossing Cambie Street at West 57th Avenue shortly after 8:30 a.m. when she was struck by the driver of a black GMC Sierra, according to Vancouver Police.
The woman was taken to hospital where she remains with serious, life-altering injuries.
“This collision occurred during a busy time of day where there would be a lot pedestrian and vehicle traffic,” said police spokesperson Const. Tania Visintin.
“We are asking witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to get in touch with investigators as quickly as possible.”
Visintin said the driver remained at the scene, and that speed and impairment do not appear to be factors.
Anyone with information is asked to call VPD’s Collision Investigation Unit at 604-717-3012.
