BBC journalists are set to expose more allegations against TV star Gregg Wallace
The BBC has uncovered “a number of very interesting allegations” against Gregg Wallace after launching its own investigation.
The Express understands the Beeb has signed up a team of top reporters working internally on stories about the MasterChef star.
A source claims the allegations uncovered “stretch back many more years” with the broadcaster planning to run a documentary on its findings.
They said: “The scope of the investigation into Gregg’s behaviour is widening.
“The are very keen to ensure that journalists working inside the corporation have the freedom to investigate stories in the same way any journalist on a newspaper or rival TV channel would.

“That’s why a team are being allowed to freely dig into the Gregg Wallace allegation with a view to making a Panorama-style documentary and investigation next year. The same thing happened with the Strictly scandal and the Huw Edwards furore.
“The early signs are that this investigation has uncovered a number of very interesting new allegations, which indicate the timeline of this scandal could stretch wider and much further back than was first thought.”
The Beeb’s investigation has already heard from 13 people across a range of ages, who worked across five different shows.
They include the broadcaster Kirsty Wark, who appeared on Celebrity MasterChef, as well as production workers and freelancers.
Last week, Wallace, 60, apologised for claiming complaints about his behaviour came from “a handful of middle-class women of a certain age”, adding he will “take some time out”.
Wallace’s lawyers have strongly denied “he engages in behaviour of a sexually harassing nature”.
On Friday, bosses said they would be supporting MasterChef production company Banijay UK as it investigates allegations of misconduct against Wallace.
In a message sent to staff, director-general Tim Davie, and Charlotte Moore, the ’s chief content officer, said the corporation will not “tolerate behaviour that falls below the standards we expect”.
Since the allegations emerged, the have pulled a Celebrity MasterChef Christmas Cook Off special and a MasterChef Strictly Christmas special from its December TV schedules.
