A pitbull has broken hearts across the globe after being spotted crying in her kennels as she waits for an owner to take her home.
Roxy, who has found herself back in kennels for the second time, was initially rescued by the Town of Hempstead Animal Shelter in 2017 after being found alone on the streets of New York.
After a short stay at their kennels, the secured a new home. But unfortunately, due to her owner becoming homeless, the has been returned to the shelter.
A poignant video shows Roxy crying in her kennel, yearning for a new family, accompanied by the message, “Senior girl Roxy howls hoping someone will hear her cries for a new home. Please hear her. Come meet her today.”
The shelter made an emotional plea on , stating: “She needs a home that will allow her to decompress after being in and out of the shelter system.” They describe Roxy as deserving of an adult-only, low-traffic home where she can be her true self.

Noted for being good on a leash, happy to receive rewards, and enjoying affection, Roxy is seeking a supportive family that offers positive reinforcement. At 10 years old, Roxy is still playful and spirited, yet she does have protective tendencies and issues with guarding.
The appeal adds: “She is friendly with people she knows and has been friendly with strangers. She truly needs someone who will set her up for success! ” One user commented on the post, saying: “This is heartbreaking. Please someone open up your heart and home for this poor dog that needs pledges those that can to get a forever loving home or loving foster home Needs our love and support. Please don’t wait. Prayers and sharing.”
Another user chimed in: “How sad, I couldn’t even comprehend the idea of doing this to my senior pitbulls whom are 17 and 15. They have given and continue to bless me with there companionship their whole life’s. They will pass knowing they were loved and cherished till their last breath.”
A third user remarked: “She is very beautiful. I hope someone adopts her soon. She is a real sweetheart.”
Someone else also added: “Prayers this adorable girl Roxy is adopted very soon!” While a final user pleaded: “Please help Roxy. She just wants a good home to go to somebody love her. She’s howling because she just is lonely.
“Can you imagine being behind bars for as long as that poor precious baby has think about yourself but think about the love you could give him and the fun you can have please help her.”
