Leon, who doesn’t turn 18 until April, has previously revealed that he wants to represent Cerro Porteno in the 2025 Copa Libertadores, which begins in February.
And he has remained coy on his links to United, telling Deportes Uno: “I have huge expectations about playing in the 2025 Libertadores.
“I’ve read about ‘s link with me, I don’t know anything. Everything is handled by my agent.
“I spent four years preparing for this opportunity. You have to take advantage of it when it comes.
“Now I’m thinking about everything that happened this season. The night before the debut, I couldn’t sleep because of the excitement.”

Meanwhile, Juan Carlos Pettengill, the vice president of Cerro Porteno, has ruled out the possibility of Leon leaving the club before next summer.
“Diego Leon will play this season at Cerro. He can’t leave before he turns 18 years old,” Pettengill recently explained.
United won’t be in a rush, eyeing Leon as their latest signing for the future after recruiting teenage midfielder Sekou Kone from Malian side Guidard FC in the summer.
The 18-year-old has been based in the youth set-up since his £1m switch, and Leon would likely undergo the same transition.
