About 60 firefighters are currently battling the blaze
Dozens of firefighters are battling a huge blaze which has broken out in east London.
Eight fire engines and around 60 firefighters are tackling a fire at a terraced house in Ley Street, Ilford.
Reports of an explosion have been shared on social media. The roof and first floor of the two-storey property are on fire.
London Fire Brigade station commander Darren McTernan has been at the scene. He said: “Firefighters are working hard to bring this fire under control.
“Ley Street is closed between Eastern Avenue and Vicarage Road, impacting traffic in the surrounding area, so please avoid the area if you can.
“One of the Brigade’s 32-metre turntable ladders is being used at the scene to help fight the fire from above. The Brigade’s drone team have also been deployed to the incident, offering the incident commander an aerial view of the scene.”

The roof and first floor of the two storey property are alight, according to the Brigade.

Footage has been shared on social media which appears to show the moment the property explodes.
The footage, which has not been independently verified by the Express, shows the front of a house blow up, sending debris and smoke skywards.
