Best winter walks in the UK with warming pubs dotted along the way

If you are looking for new walks this , the team at have ranked the top 10 best walks in the UK that have a lovely pub at the end of the trail.

Factors that influence the ranking include accessibility, how family-friendly the walking trials are, and the pub itself at the end.

Topping the charts in first place is the and Friston Forest Circular along Hampshire and Sussex. Taking around three hours and 30 minutes to complete, the 12.7km is sure to create feel-good hormones, namely endorphins.

Visitors on this trail, starting from Eastbourne, will walk past stunning chalk cliffs and through the forest.

While there is a National Trust cafe along the way, there are also three pubs to visit: The Tiger Inn in East Dean, The Selsey Arms in West Dean, and The Cuckmere Inn in Exceat.

The second best ranked UK walking trail is from Seaford to Eastbourne in the South Downs National Park. An extra long walking trail, taking five hours and 30 minutes from start to finish (minus the stop-offs), is one to do from very early in the morning.

Views along the walk include the white cliffs, the English Channel, and lush greenery. En route, there will also be beaches and lighthouses, and The London & County JD Wetherspoon will be waiting at Eastbourne.

Next on the list is Mam Tor and The Great Ridge via Elbow Ridge in the Peak District National Park, which is another lengthy walk at three hours and 50 minutes.

For those preferring a shorter walking trail, the Buttermere Circula in the Lake District National Park is the shortest on the list (at number five).

Only taking one hour and 47 minutes, this 7.4km route is much more winter-friendly for those who like more of a gentle walk.
