Scottie Scheffler’s caddie, Ted Scott, has been benefiting from the golf star’s huge success this year, earning a staggering amount himself in 2024 which totals just over £4.1million ($5.2m).

wrapped off a historic season with a win at  on Sunday, pocketing another £783,000 ($1m) in the process. Winning came naturally to  this year, with  taking home a cool £43m ($55m) overall.

The  icon found the winner’s circle nine times in 21 starts in 2024 and also bagged victories at The Players Championship and the all en route to winning the first FedEx Cup of his career. For something similar, you would have to go back to 2006, when the legendary  pulled off an equally impressive year.

While Scheffler enjoyed the fruits of his hard work, he was not the only one. His caddie Scott, who became the New Jersey native’s bagman in 2021, has also fetched a handsome sum thanks to an arrangement between himself and the golf star.

While it’s not exactly clear what Scott’s cut is, the average set-up for player-caddie agreements usually sees a caddie earn 10 per cent of winnings following a victory. It’s then seven per cent for a top 10 and five per cent for making the cut. And if that formula is followed, then Scott earned over £4m this year alone.

Scheffler, whose net worth reportedly now stands at around £70m ($90m), did not miss a cut all season, while having a pair of second places and only finished outside of the top 25 on just two occasions. His biggest cheque came after his win at the Tour Championship where he raked in a staggering £19.6m ($25m).

His second-largest came after he took home The Players Championship title, where £3.5m ($4.5m) made its way into his bank account. All in all, Scheffler’s earnings for his 2024 season came to be just over £43m and, in what are truly eye-watering figures, Scheffler earned on average £2.5million per tournament, £628,000 per round and £9,000 per shot, as per .

Even before Scheffler secured the FedEx Cup, Scott had picked up just over £2million ($2.5m) on the PGA Tour. That would have placed him 58th on the tour players’ money list, even putting him ahead of three-time major winner Jordan Spieth, a

, Scheffler told the that he has a little help when putting together his finances. “We have a girl that helps us pay bills basically because I’m a child and I can’t keep track of all that stuff,” he said.

“She quickly took over that job and texts me at the end of each week, saying, ‘hey, this is how much we’re paying Ted’. I’m like, ‘that’s great’.”

Scott and Scheffler attended the same bible study group before working together and he has conceded his caddie’s religious beliefs were a vital factor when on the hunt for a new course companion.

He said: “I just think the world of him as a person so that was why I was attracted to him just being a potential good partner for me out on the course. I really want to work with a Christian. That’s how I try to live my life.”
