‘I watched Danny Jones win I’m A Celebrity – here is what he’s really like off camera’

She added: “He also has the most fabulous voice. I wish I could have been sitting around the campfire being serenaded by Danny. He was not afraid to show his vulnerable side which helped him to foster a good connection with the audience.

“He is a genuinely deserving King Of The Jungle. I’m sure he will have new opportunities from this jungle stint. We all deeply felt the connection he had with Barry. I hope they stay in touch after this experience,” Gillian finished.

The McFly star triumphed over Coleen Rooney and Reverend Richard Coles in Sunday night’s finale of the ITV show.

However he has been forced to hand back his crown and sceptre just hours after being crowned King of the Jungle.

Last year’s winner Sam Thompson appeared on This Morning last year and revealed the disappointing reality of the winner’s victory: “I didn’t get to keep anything! They wouldn’t let me keep anything!”

“I had to give the sceptre back. I really wanted to bring it through airport security because it’s quite big,” he laughed. “But yeah, I don’t have anything to show for it.”

Unlike other reality shows, with contestants instead receiving a pre-negotiated appearance fee.
