have shocked fans by announcing they will ‘go their separate ways’ after , revealing their surprise ‘split’ for Christmas, right after Sunday night’s final. The Geordie pair, who have graced our screens for over three decades, first rose to fame on the hit teatime series Byker Grove in the early 90s.

They left the show as teenagers to pursue a career in pop music, scoring hits like Eternal Love, Stuck On U and Let’s Get Ready to Rhumble. For the past 23 years, since hosting Pop Idol in 2001, Ant and Dec have been the biggest presenters on British television, fronting shows such as Britain’s Got Talent, Saturday Night Takeaway and, more recently, their own gameshow Limitless Win.

They have also hosted I’m A Celebrity since 2002, with them announcing on Sunday night.

Following the launch of the new series of I’m A Celebrity in mid-November, Ant and Dec regularly appeared on the show’s spin-off Unpacked on ITV. They joined hosts Joel Dommett, Kemi Rogers and Sam Thompson after the main ITV broadcasts concluded.

After Danny’s victory, Ant and Dec returned to Unpacked where Joel questioned them about their Christmas plans. The Masked Singer presenter and his colleagues were surprised when the duo revealed they wouldn’t be spending the holiday together, reports Chronicle Live.

When asked about his plans, Ant told Joel: “No we don’t spend it together. I’ll be at home with the girls and the family…just chilling,” which led to a shocked response from Kemi who asked: “Do you at least do Boxing Day? “

In the final moments of Sunday’s Unpacked, Ant and Dec announced that I’m A Celebrity will return next year, with Dec adding: “Watch out celebs, we’re coming for you!”

Meanwhile, it has been revealed that Danny Jones won the 2024 final with 41.36% of the votes, while Coleen Rooney got 33.47% and Reverend Richard Coles achieved 25.18%, making it a very close race.

Fans were stunned as it was revealed that , as he was paid a fee to appear, and that he has to return his iconic crown and sceptre before he returns home.
