The Prince of Wales provided some insight into his family’s traditions
reports that the Prince of Wales – who has been the President of The Royal Marsden since 2007 – was asked festive questions that had been sent in by young listeners.
Answering a query about what his favourite Christmas song is, gave an eyebrow-raising response.
He told host Barry Alston: “For this particular chat with you Barry, I’m gonna say ‘Feliz Navidad’ is my favourite Christmas song because it’s a bit different”.
He added: “I could say Mariah Carey, who I love dearly as well. That’s a good one and obviously there are many others, but I think I’ll probably go with ‘Feliz Navidad.’ It’s a bit more jolly.”
The Princess of Wales is gradually returning to royal duties
The selection offers a glimpse into the royal’s hidden talent.
The prince is skilled as regards languages, and is said to be able to speak in French, German, Welsh, Gaelic, Spanish and can even converse in Swahili.
He taught himself it during his time at university. It’s possible that William improved his Spanish skills during his gap-year which he spent in Chile on the Raleigh International scheme building houses and helping communities.
But that wasn’t the end of the Prince’s appearance on the show as he also told the young listeners that he is a big fan of one of the most popular Christmas films of all time.
Don’t miss…
William said: “I would have to say, probably Elf. It’s very funny and I keep watching it every Christmas and it still makes me laugh.”
As well as this, he spoke about the classic board game he plays with George, Charlotte and Louis and enjoys it as it makes everyone very ‘cross’.
Asked what his family’s go-to board game was, William explained, “We are playing board games with the children quite a lot. We love Monopoly, that’s good and Risk, have you played Risk before?
“That’s a good board game, it goes on for hours and usually everyone gets very cross because they lose. But that’s what I like playing.”
