Inside Strictly host Claudia Winkleman’s marriage from dealbreaker to bedroom admission

The on-screen star has spoken candidly about her relationship with the Danish-born film producer and addressed the couple’s differences over the years.

Beloved for her candour and wit, Claudia has become a staple on British TV since she stepped into Sir Bruce Forsyth’s shoes on Strictly back in 2014.

Since the turn of the millennium, she has navigated matrimony with her spouse, Kris Tykier, showcasing the same charm and cheekiness within her long-standing relationship.

Claudia has previously explained how she manages to balance her career with home life, quipping, “My husband is a better parent than me,” but she has since revealed her one dealbreaker.

The vivacious Strictly co-host, hilariously told her husband that she’ll “sleep with his brother” should he indulge in habits she finds supremely unattractive.

Speaking with comedian Paul Merton on the show Room 101 last year, Claudia revealed she has a hatred of overly organised habits, especially when it comes to loading the dishwasher.

She said: “I don’t think I could have sex with somebody who had a very strict system when it comes to loading the dishwasher. I’m just, it goes in, it comes out, everyone please relax.”

Claudia continued to express her aversion to tidiness, recounting an incident with her husband: “My husband is much cleaner than I am. He once said ‘babe, you know where we keep the mustard’, and I was like, I’m happy to call [counselling charity] Relate, don’t touch me. I think this might be one of the most unattractive things ever.”

The presenter maintained her stance, but clarified of her cupboards at home: “I’m not wild.

“I’m not playing Frisbee, I’ll put them in. But if one goes skew-whiff, and he came up and went, ‘well that’s never going to work’ then I’m going to sleep with your brother.”

Meanwhile, in another candid conversation, Claudia revealed a bizarre phobia in a cheeky bedroom admission as she revealed what puts her off.

If Kris has drunk a glass of water, he immediately puts her off. This is due to her unusual fear of liquids.

She explained the situation during an appearance on the Off Menu podcast with comedy duo Ed Gamble and James Acaster back in 2020, The Mirror reports. She told them: “I don’t like or believe in water, I won’t have it,” she alarmingly disclosed.

“If you’re walking towards my table and there’s a water glass it’s a solid no. I’ve never knowingly had water – I don’t like it. I won’t have it around.

“My husband drinks great amounts of water and I really like him but it’s problematic. He’s glugging. Don’t touch me. ‘Claud, take your bra off.’ I don’t think so, you should be ashamed of yourself.”

She went on: “Imagine you’re on a date I’ve been with the same man for 100 years. He’s sitting there and he’s like: ‘I don’t know what to have, what are you going to have? Maybe we should have the same thing.’ And someone comes round and says: ‘Would you like some water? And he goes: ‘Yeah, sure’.

“And they give him a pint glass of water and he drinks the whole thing. Are you going to want to kiss this many anymore? No. A wet mouth with a big fleshy tongue that is covered in liquid.”

Claudia then confessed that it’s not just water she isn’t keen on, but all liquids in general. “I want a dry shrivelled up little man, I want to sleep with Mr Burns, he doesn’t drink water, I want him at the table,” she expressed. “I just don’t like liquid, I don’t like wine, there’s all kinds of stuff. Is this too weird?”
