Our Yorkshire Farm fans ‘didn’t recognise’ Sid Owen as he reunites with brothers

Fans of Our Yorkshire Farm were astonished by the transformation of Sidney Owen, Reuben Owen’s younger brother, in the Christmas special that aired earlier this week.

The one-off episode, titled Reuben Owen: Christmas in the Dales, brought together Reuben, his brothers Sidney and Miles, and friend Tommy. In the festive episode, Reuben organised a gathering to thank friends and family for their support of his heavy plant machinery business.

Reuben and Tommy also ventured to a Swedish mining town in the Arctic Circle for some end-of-year work. However, viewers were captivated by Sidney’s grown-up appearance in the programme.

On a Facebook fan page dedicated to the Owen family, one fan commented: ” I love Sid; he is growing up so fast.”

Another fan agreed: “I didn’t recognise him, grown up now.”, reports .

A third fan added: “Love young Sid, always ready to learn from his elders.”

A fourth fan predicted: “He will follow in his brother’s footsteps.

While another stated: “I loved the show; how tall has little Sid grown? I won’t be able to call him little Sid soon.”

The Owen brothers recently featured in a new All4 series, Our Farm Next Door: Amanda Clive and Kids. The series followed the family as they undertook the massive challenge of restoring the dilapidated farmhouse known as Anty John’s.

During the show, family head Amanda Owen shared her aspirations for the revamp and her dreams that some of her offspring might eventually transition from Ravenseat Farm to the freshly restored abode.

Likewise yearning for his own space, Reuben expressed his willingness to venture out: “Other than Ravenseat, it is probably one of the only places I’d consider living happily.”

Viewers were despondent as the series concluded; however, they can take heart as the Owens are slated to grace screens with new episodes come the New Year.

Reuben Owen: Christmas in the Dales airs on Wednesday at 9pm on Channel 5.
