Limassol, located on Cyprus’s southern coast, tops the list for average hours of sunlight in December, offering an impressive 186 hours of sunshine this month alone—far surpassing London’s modest 52 hours.

Not only that, but this popular summer destination boasts a pleasant average temperature of 19C in December, according to Thomas Cook.

In second place is Seville, a stunning city in southern Spain, which enjoys an average of 185.9 hours of sun in December.

Spain remains a popular choice for sunshine, much like during the Sumer, with the coastal city of Almeria basking in 178 hours of sunlight in December, and Murcia following closely behind with 172 hours.

For those dreaming of a French Riviera escape, Nice offers a more temperate option, with 145.2 hours of sunlight during the month.

Neil Roarty, analyst at Stocklytics.com commented on the findings: “Travel Tuesday will give savvy spenders a great opportunity to snap up some last minute deals.

“Many may think that to get summer sunshine, they’ll need to spend thousands of pounds and hours on a plane.

“In fact, there are plenty of options in Europe that’ll satisfy your vitamin D requirement and will be easier on the bank account.”
