heavyweight is in a “very stable place at the moment,” his former spouse has revealed today.

The 69-year-old screen star, known for his roles in blockbusters like Die Hard, has been battling frontotemporal (FTD), a condition that has progressively impaired his ability to communicate. Moore, who famously starred in Ghost and shares three daughters with Willis, expressed her heartfelt approach to dealing with the illness during a conversation with British journalist Christiane Amanpour on CNN.

She said: “I’ve shared this before, but I really mean this so sincerely, it’s so important for anybody who’s dealing with this to really meet them where they’re at, and from that place, there is such loving and joy.”

She acknowledged the hardships of the situation, stating: “I mean, obviously it’s very difficult, and it’s not what I would wish upon anyone and there is great loss, but there is also great beauty and gifts that can come out of it.”

This comes around 18 months after Willis’s family first publicly disclosed his health issues. Willis later remarried, tying the knot with actress Emma Heming Willis in 2009, with whom he has two daughters, Mabel and Evelyn, reports .

The cherished actor has been compelled to retire from his profession due to health issues, after establishing an impressive legacy with over 100 films during his career that spans more than four decades. Since parting ways with Moore, who went on to wed and subsequently divorce Ashton Kutcher, the star’s family life continues to flourish. On the topic of maintaining a family bond post-separation, Moore, 62, shared, “That has been very important to me, even from when Bruce and I separated and divorced, is the recognition that we’re a family and we’ll always be a family, just in a different form.”

“And that form may evolve and change, and there is a way in which we can all be in that form. I’m grateful because it’s not just me. It has to require everybody to be coming together, and it’s lovely. I’m really so grateful.”

Frontotemporal Dementia (FTD) is defined as a collective term for various types of dementia, predominantly affecting the frontal and temporal lobes of the brain. These regions are vital for controlling aspects like personality, behaviour, language, and speech, as explained by Dementia UK.
