star Gillian McKeith has had her say on Tulisa deleting all mention of the reality show from her social media – and fleeing before the coming out show.
Tulisa declined an appearance on extra show Unpacked, later stating on social media that she felt “overwhelmed” after coming out of the show. And for Gillian, the whole thing “speaks volumes”.
In her Express.co.uk column, Gillian admitted: “It’s not every day that a celebrity in the public eye openly shares how they deeply feel. Yet here we have Tulisa letting her guard down completely and explaining that she feels a bit overwhelmed after being in a jungle bubble for the past couple of weeks.
“When you first come out of the jungle, it’s a real shocker, a whirlwind of activity as you are suddenly thrust into interviews, photo shoots, endless questions about the other castmates, people coming up to you in the street and of course the opinions all over social media.
“You can feel like a deer caught in headlights and unless you talk with someone who has had the same experience, no-one understands your state of mind.

Tulisa has now fled Australia after being evicted from I’m A Celeb
“Tulisa has chosen to be out of the public eye until this jungle experience and it was all just a little too much for her, I think. Give her a few days where she can reset and I’m sure she will make herself available when it feels less intense.”
Gillian continued: “Her decision to step back a wee bit and explain how she feels, the emotions she is perceiving actually speaks volumes. It’s a true testament to her placing mental as well as emotional well-being as top priority. This is a superb message in a world that usually celebrates pushing through at all costs, no matter what.
“Here is the takeaway from this Tulisa situation: We can’t advocating for improved mental health awareness and then complaining about someone like Tulisa needing to take the time to focus on it. Tulisa’s honesty is refreshing and brave.
Gillian McKeith has spoken out about Tulisa ditching I’m A Celeb
“She is teaching that we can acknowledge our limits without having to feel so guilty. Your strength is not necessarily just about showing up every day but also knowing when you might just need to take a step back, temporarily. It’s that simple and we should support her. There are too many unrealistic expectations nowadays especially for young women who feel enormous pressure on what they say, how they look what they wear and decisions they make.
“Putting yourself on the biggest show in the country attracts enormous attention, commentary and column inches. Everybody wants to stick their two cents in… Tulisa just needs a couple of days to sort out her emotions.”
